  1. Many of the old crafts (?) forgotten but basket making is still continued in this district.
    In order to make the "ciseán" nice and durable the rods were boiled and peeled. Then they were dyed some colour - red or green. The dyed rods were then interwoven with the white ones and when the basket was finished there were striped in it.
    When a "cliabh" was to be made the rods were never boiled or dyed but were only seasoned
