    There is a well in a field near the school called Mooneen, and it is said that a prophecy was made by a man named Monaghan who lived up to about ten years ago in baingbeg about the well.
    The prophecy is that at the end fo the world an old woman will come up out of the well pulling a thread after her and that the water will come up after her, and the water will join on with the lake and cover the village and the road and so flood the place around. A man will then come down the road riding on a white horse and finding the flood & will cut the head off the old woman. Then he will throw the head into the
