  1. Up to about fifty or sixty years ago it was a very rare thing to see brushes for sweeping floors in any of the houses in this district.
    People used people besoms instead. These besoms were made of heather. The young girls used to gather (together and gather) the heather on a little hill called Suidh-Finn. The longest of this was selected and tied with a string.
    Up to the present day some of those are still to be seen in some houses especially near the mountain.
