- About the year 1895 in the month of March, rain fell heavily one night. It continued raining all the following day till about 2 p.m. The mountain streams of this locality became roaring torrents, they over flowed their banks, swept stock with them, entered houses on level ground and swept cradles, kettles, pigs, etc. with them. In places, great lakes occupied the place of green fields. No very great damage was done and the flood had receded a good deal before bed time. No lives were lost.
