    The food was put into a sort of basin made of sheep skin. This was called a "wight". The hens laid in what was called a "maoiseóg". This was made of straw. They very often laid in the kitchen bed.
    |The window in the kitchen was very small, it consisted of but two panes. If a pane got broken, it was not replaced by glass but a bundle of rags stuck in the hole to keep out the fresh air There was curtains in the window.
    There was a special [?] in the kitchen for the bed. [?] was called the hag. The curtains used around the bed was a ma [?] of straw, the mattress also was a of straw. The floor was made of sand or clay. Dressers were not
