  1. Bourke of Kilimar was the landlord of Attavalley, Carrick, ? and Corohore. He was a cruel landlord and he evicted many of the people. One of his servants was a boy from Carrick.
    One night a number of men gathered at Feerick's mill to draw a kilncast. This mill was worked by the little river which flows from Carrick lake. The men started to talk about the cruel landlord. There was a well educated man among them. The man started . reading something out of a book. By some evil power the called the devil up before him and he kissed him through a sieve. In the morning the landlord was found under his own bed quite black and dead. The people said it must have
