The man still kept pushing, yet Donal pushed against him and at last he said: "Donal, you are a brave man. The man that left you here thinks that you will be killed in the morning because everyone who came here got killed. I was killed unjustly by some man. He cut off my head and he buried it under that hearth-stone there. When you get out of this place get a warrant against that certain man and when the law comes off, if the Judge does not agree I will appear at their backs and speak."
When the gentleman came in, in the morning he was greatly surprised to find Donal in his bed. He asked him where was the beggar-man and Donal told him all that happened.
