    Long ago the houses were all built of mud and were called mud cabins.

    Long ago the houses were all built of mud and were called cabins. They were built round in the shape of a bee-hive. The roof was thatched and came within two or three from the ground
    The door was very small and low. There was only one window and this was very small with only one pane of glass in it. People say they were very warm They were nearly always built in a hollow to guard against storms
    The beds were all made of timber and were nearly as high as the roof. They were called camp-beds
