1. Travelling Folk

   Some travelling people still call to my home. They have been coming to my district for many a year. None of them are very rich and on the other hand some are very poor. Certain tribes go around from house to house selling small articles such as collar pins, and studs, buttons, clips, mirrors, combs and badges. They buy these articles and sell them so as to make good profit on them.
   Then farmers do not like these tribes to come around the district because they generally have horses and asses to carry them about. When they arrive at the place where they are going to stay the night, they let loose these animals on the road. These stray about and go into haggards and hay fields and destroy crops.
   Some of these travelling folk have caravans and the poorer people have tents to sleep in. The women go around begging alms such as flour, bacon, eggs, milk, turf, and clothes. Some of them go in bands and others go in families. The families best known in my locality are the
