- There is no local tradition of saints in this district. The Catholic church is called St. Marys and it is called after the Blessed Virgin.
- There was a landlord at Quirry and his name was Bulter. He was not a bad man and he carried out no evictions. He had the land on which the town was built and after that the land commission bought the land.

There is no graveyard in the town because no catholics were aloud to stop in the town. - The games that were long ago were Jackstones, Skittles, Cat and dog, Football, Comans.
