    them coming in.
Sometimes they stay for weeks around the district but they very seldom over a night. They always have food of their own that they get in other houses. If they happen to stay for the night, they sleep on a bag of chaff or straw in the corner.
Most of them go in bands in big covered coaches, drawn by tow or four horses. These travell all night. The best known of them are "Paddy the Barrow", "the Connelly's", and "the Murray's".
When these people come around the district they sell horses to the people.
Long ago these travellers were very welcome as there were no papers or no radio to bring the news from different parts of the country. The best known of these folk were 'Peggy Máire', and 'McMahon' who lived around Cavan.
