  1. There are a lot of local proverbs but the best known are.
    "The Master's eye does more than both his hands".
    "Learning and manners are charming companions".
    "A friend's frown is better than a foe's smile".
    "Many hands make light work, but too many cooks spoil the broth". The first is said when help gathers. The latter is said when too many is helping and not needed.
    "Bachelors wives and maidens' children are easily trained". The bachelor imagines that he would have no trouble in pleasing a wife, and the maiden thinks that there is no delay in rearing a family.
    "Long churning makes bad butter". It is usually said when making bargains.
    "Borrowed horses have hard hooves".
