"Hui Deci the goodly country of hills
    The extensive white mansioned land,

  2. The Gap of Glendine where my grand-mother and great grand-mother were born was the pass in the Slieve Bloom mountains which the northern chiefs used, in their journey from Ulster to Kinsale. The ruins of the house are still to be seen there. The name of my ancestors who lived in the house was Whelan.
