  1. In the February of the year 1933 a sever thunder storm swept over this locality and caused a great deal of damage. It uprooted nine or ten trees in Ballycumber and it also killed a horse belonging to Mr. D. Lynam and a pony belonging to Mr. J. Hackett both of Ballycumber.
    In 1933 a severe snowstorm swept over the district. It was six to eight feet in drifts so that all the traffic was stopped. A breadcar owned by Lumely and Sons was trapped in a drift in Clonshanny. It was there for three or four days and when the driver came back to it, all the bread was gone.
