- About ninety years ago, a man named Brian Quaid got married to a Peggy Houlihan. There marriage took place in Tubber chapel. When they came back, they had breakfast in Quaid's house. A great number of neighbours was invited to the party. They had plenty of oaten and wheaten bread and porter. Beggars came during the day and dressed in all colours of old clothes. They had hay ropes round their middles. Some of them played flutes and tin whistles, the others danced. They kept dancing all day and night. They had a half-barrel of porter in the house. The beggars were drunk coming home. They were talking about the great night they had. The married couple went to live in a new house. They lived by the Dublin road.
