  2. In Cromell's time the Friary was only a little church. When Cromell came to Wexford he marched up to the Friary where there were eight friars. At first first he marched up the church and broke in the tabernacle and he threw the Communions around the church. Then he put the friars to the sword. One of the friars escaped through the secret passage
