There was a man lived round here a long time ago and he had a cow that was just after calving.
There was a few of the neighbours there and they saw a woman coming over towards the byre. She sat down outside the byre door. Two of the men got forks and it took them all their time to keep her out of the byre.
If she had got in and got the first sup of milk from the cow she would have the butter belonging to the cow for the rest of the year.
The man kept a watch about the byre and the neighbours took their turn with him and in a few nights after she came back again and sat in the same place. The man set the dogs on her and she never annoyed him any more.
