- I live in the townland of Comakelly and in the Parish of Dromard and in the County Longford and in the Barony of Longford.
There are thirty one families in the townland and there are one hundred and thirty one people. The most common name in Comakelly is McManus.
There are five slated houses and the rest are thatched. There are five people over seventy and one old woman over ninety, and none of them can tell Irish stories. Houses were far more numerous in olden times than they are now. The townland is not mentioned in any song or saying.
The land is hilly and boggy and some of it good. In my townland there is an old burial place which derives its name Tubberpatrick from the time Saint Patrick(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
