  1. There are not many old emblems in this district. The people of this district make crosses of straw on St. Brigids night. They plat two straws together and tie to them at the top and bottom with tread. Then they plat two more straws and tie them at the ends. they put these two straws across the other two, and tie them in the center and the cross is made. The people of this district hang up holly at Xmas.

  2. A horse shoe was hung up over every door in this district some time ago, but it is rarely seen now. This was supposed to bring good luck.
    Nearly every body kept a black cat, this also was to bring good luck.
