   It is headed by a General who is out to ruin the State

   Support our home industry and buy a Shirt of Blue

   All the farmers joined the Circus to see what they could do

   And gathered all the clowns they could to wear a shirt of blue

   Now farmers round good old Westmeath don't listen to the rot

   It is terrible to hear them talking of the good men hanged and shot

   Let Hayes and Breen be with you they were out when men were few

   And head the poll will keep them in spite of Duffy's Blue.
