- We have a nice new churn in our dairy, we have it for the last two years. It is an end-over-end churn. My Mother churns twice in the week, on Tuesday and Friday; she has eighteen pounds in the week.
It takes her twenty five minutes to churn. The churn is two feet long and two feet and six inches wide. When the churning is done, cold water is put in to wash down the butter.
If any person comes in when she is churning, he or she helps, they say this brings luck on the butter, and more butter will be in the churn.
