- Local Happenng18-1-38Baileboro is a medium sized town in cavan. Drumkerry lake is about three miles from it.
A clergyman called Rev. Mr. Graham B.A. a native of Coleraine, County Derry was drowned in it on the twenty third of July 1937.
He was a young man and had only one exam to pass before being ordained, although he was in charge of Corglass Presbyterian church.
He was out one evening swimming in the lake and was teaching two other boys to swim. He as a strong swimmer. He suddenly disappeared and, as he went down, they threw him a lifebelt, but he did not see it. He went down and every second they watched out to see him again, but he never came up. The manager of the boot factory at Baileboro slipped off his trousers and dived for him but could not get him.
