How the townland got its name: It is said to have got the name "Tubberfinn" from a well that is there.
Old people: Patrick Farrell (over 70). He does not know Irish but he can tell stories in English.Houses were more numerous in former times. People emigrated from this district to America.The townland is not mentioned in any song or sayings. The old parish chapel of Donore is said to have been near the point of the hill below Jones's. Patrick McConnell and his brother once found a holy water stoup in one of the fields at Tubberfinn, but it is not known what became of it.
