- McHugh's fort is the only one in my district. It is in the townland of Reaghstown. It is round in shape.
This fort is supposed to contain a lot of gold. One night a man dreamed that if he killed a sheep and dragged it round the fort the black tom-cat, which guarded it, would come out and drink the sheep's blood. When he got up in the morning he went and killed a sheet and dragged its body round the fort. The tom-cat came out and started to drink the sheep's blood. The man looked at the fort and saw the top of it rising. Then he saw the gold. He got(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile) - Bailitheoir
