- Cahaska is in the parish of Rath and the barony of Inchiquin. It got that name because parts of it are soft and wet. It is half a mile in breath and three quarters of a mile in length. There were twenty six houses there long ago and there are nine houses there now and two of them are slated. There are three people in the townland over seventy years. Mrs McNamara, Mrs O'Keefe and Edward Quinn, and their address is, Cahaska, Corofin, Co. Clare. Mrs McNamara and Edward Quinn have Irish and they can tell English stories.
