1. Games We Play

   

   Roinn Roinn Postáil

   There are many different kinds of games we play, both indoor and outdoor games. The outdoor games we play are, marbles, conquers, Hide and seek, tig, time, rounders, handball, catching birds in bird baskets, picking blackberries and nuts, and four corners, throwing stones, cricket. The indoor games we play are, draughts, ludo, cards, finding the a in a book, racing games, and table tennis, and snap-apple,
   When the players are playing cards, if one of the cards drops on the floor, the players say "what drops on the floor comes in the door." The games we play at school are, tig, handball, and gangs. When the chest-nuts are ripe in Autumn, we go out the country and pick supplys of them. We then put them up until they are well seasoned. When then they are seasned we put a hole in them with a nail. Then we put a piece of cord with a knot in the end of it through the hole. We have great sport trying to break the chest-nut. One boy holds the chest-nut while the other the other boy tries to break it. They got every second chance to hit it.

   Rounders
   Rounders can be played during any part of the year. It is played with with an even number. Boys go out playing rounders every day after school.
