Christian custom observed in many houses in the parish of sprinkling crops, fields farm animals with Easter Water; others sprinkle the whole boundary of their farm.

    The May Bush
Whitethorn or sgeach or Blackthorn whichever is in bloom on May Eve. This or a bough from this is dressed by children with flowers, ribbons coloured egg shells.
They play games around it and then put it in the ground for the night for the fairies to dance around it.
Sgeach is connected with fairies as sgeach grow in forts.
Sometimes the doorsteps are sprinkled with flowers from the May bush.
