  1. In olden times herbs were used as a remedy for all ailments, and these cures were handed down traditionally.
    Dock leaves were used as a cure for wasp stings or for a sting from a nettle.
    Slanlus is supposed when chewed with mouth and applied to cut to stop bleeding. When boiled in new milk the Slandlus is supposed to cure diarrhoea.
    Dandelion is said to purify the blood when the leaves are eaten as salad.
    Yarrow:- When boiled in new milk this is supposed to cure rheumatism.
    Marsh mallow is used as a remedy for swelling and sprains.
    Nettles when used 3 times during March prevent illness.
    Sloes and alder berries are used for dyeing.
    A murrain in cattle is cured with nettles. A quantity of nettles are boiled with salt for a couple of hours. The water is then
