    Knockaine or Aine's Hill was the place where faires and sports were held from the remotest time and it was also connected with the Fianna.
    Here resides the Dedannan fairy Áine who rules over Munster as queen of the fairies. In the 1st Cuculann drew the attention of his tutor Domnal to the Shannon from its summit.
    Finn Mac Cumaill in the 3rd century rested on Knockaine watched his troops.
