Biddy promptly pounced on it and it was not long until she had it opened to find it full of gold sovereigns tied up in bundles. "Hold your tongue about that, Jack" says Biddy "and Ill give you a glass of whiskey after your supper" Jack was quite willing to do so and he got the glass of punch from Biddy. While he was drinking it Biddy began to "sawther" him and she said "Jack will you do one thing for me." What is it woman" says Jack "Will you go to school for a few days" says she "To school woman" says Jack "and what do I want to school for?" "Will you go" says she "for a few days, just two or three days, and I'll give you another fithaun" "Well just to humour you woman" says Jack "I will". The following morning Biddy and Jack set off for the school in Corabul and Biddy spoke to the master about Jack, and the master said it would be alright. Poor Jack sat on a big stone all day and the master gave him a copy book and Jack thought the pen was a stone-hammer and made smithereens of it in no time. When he got home that evening he was furious with Biddy and he said he'd never go there again. But Biddy put the comhether on him with the punch so that he'd go the following day again. And go he did, but that day the young fellows
