    Long ago the houses were made of clay buidhe, and they were covered with straw. They had no windows only holes in the wall, and in the windows they stuck straw to keep out the wind and rain as they had no glass.
    The fire was on the ground, and the chimney's were made out of small laths.
    The house was all one room, and they divided it into a room and a kitchen.
    They made this partition by putting dresser and the coob in the middle of the kitchen.
    The hen's that were laying, or hatching wrre brought into the coob.
