In the village of Ballyhooly, in the barony of Fermoy, in the County cork, there once lived a person, who was known to be a fool, and he had a nickname as "Amadán Peter".
One day he was under a table when the soldiers were in the room plotting to kill a priest. The fool knew the priest, and when the soldiers were gone, he went off to tell the priest. They had to go around the road, because there was a flood in the Blackwater. When he came to the river he said, "Go easy Blackwater and don't drown "Amadán Peter." He jumped into the river and swam across. He ran to the priest's house, and told him that the soldiers were coming.
