  1. In the parish of Galmoy there is a castle on Daniel Kavanagh's ground called Castlepierce. It was called after Pierce Coady also Barron of Galmoy who lived in it long ago. This was about the time of the Treaty of Limerick. This man was second in Command in Sarsfields army and went to France with the Wild Geese and Sarsfield. Sarsfield was killed in France but Coady lived to come home and was hanged on a cross on the Bricana road. It is now called Cross mac Coady.
