  1. In days gone by there was a ghost in Kane's Castle at Drumreaske. It gave such torment the people of the house-hold could get no rest. At length they resolved to send for a priest.
The priest put it in a bottle and it was left in a little house a piece out in the lough. There it remained for years until there came a heavy frost. there were two men coming home from town the worse of drink. They quarrelled about this ghost and one of them decided to take it out. The lough being frozen hard he took the bottle to the road and broke it. The ghost was at liberty again and went back to the castle. They sent for the priest. He had great difficulty in putting it in the bottle the second time. There it remains in the lough to the present day.
