  2. The people used to scutch flax at home long ago. There was a forge at Three Mile House and the people used to go to get things made. The people used to make candles in a "Caiom". They would melt grease in the caiom. Then they would roll it up. They would put the inside of rushes in the candles. They would leave it in a big candle-stick with three feet on it. They would leave it in the corner. It would be spitting
