  1. 1 "I saw a sight the other day
A damsel did begin the fray
And with the daily friend did meet
    Standing in the open street
She gave such hard and steady blows
It bled ten gallons at the nose
Yet never seemed to faint or fall
She gave it no abuse at all".
2 Everything has it and so has a pipe.
3 I have it and you have it and you see it more
    than I do.
4 It grows in the wood and sounds in the town
and earns its master many a pound.
5 As round as an apple, as plump as a ball
It goes over the market house, steeple and all.
6 When the world was drowned
    And all things confounded
I saw a man on his hands & knees
Cutting off the tops of trees
His axe it was of human bone
The like of which was never known.
