- (continued from previous page)Boxwood bark is used for headaches. First the bark is boiled and then the juice is drunk.
Cherry bark is used as a cure for coughs and sore throats. The bark is cut into small parts and boiled and when it is cool it is drunk.
Chestnut bark is boiled for a sore throat. The bark is boiled in boiling water and while still hot it is rubbed on the throat with a very fine soft cloth. - Here I lay down my head to sleep,
I pray the lord my soul to keep,
If I should die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take.There are four corners on my bed,
There are four angels on it spread,
Mathew, Mark, Luke and John,
God bless this bed that I lay on.O Jesus, the very thought of thee
