  1. New year's day.
    It is supposed to be lucky to get something on that day for if you get something you will be getting all the year round and if you give away you will be losing all the year. Some people would not even put out the ashes or throw out dirty water.
    January 6th The twelfth day. Little Christmas.
    On that day the days are supposed to stretch the length of a cock's step on the dung hill.
    Saint Patrick's day.
    On St Patrick's day the warm side of the stone is turned up.
    The three borrowed days.
    There was an old cow one time. She got it very hard to over the Winter but when March was over she began to jump about with joy because she thought she was safe. March heard her and borrowed three days from April and during that time she died. Ever since these days are called "the three borrowed days." These days are generally hard cold days.
