- The Duel Near Sheemore.
In the year 1834 in the month of June a duel was fought between two men, named Minor Keon who lived at Keonbrook, and Squire Reynolds who lived at Laheen. This duel was fought over a lady named Mary Reilly. The place where the duel was fought is called Iskimilish, meaning "the sweet water", because there is a spring well near the place. The place is still marked with a heap of stones, and it was a superstitious practice with the people, when passing by the place, to throw a stone in on the heap.
