    There were many curious happenings at the time that Tottenham was in Glenfarne Hall. When they were building the church here, Tottenham would not let them get water from his (dom) demesne. The Lady came up to where they were building the church, on horseback, and the priest commanded the horse to stay still.
    It would not move for her until she begged mercy from the priest. When she had gone there sprung up a spring well in the churchyard and they were able to make mortar.
    Another time Tottenham was working his men on Lady's Day. The priest warned him not to do it and the next Lady's Day he was in his coffin.
