    At one time there was a little boy from Lettermore. His name was Denis Billy Shelia and he was employed.

    the chase started. Poor Denis did not know much about the district and the police took advantage of him so they pursued him sharply. Denis ran on and on for miles and miles until he came to a river. There was a heavy stream so Denis had to throw in the worm and swim after it till he reached the shore. He looked around and there the police were in a short distance off. They whistled at Denis to stop but he went on and on. There was more trouble for Denis in store now, he was coming near a district where there were two police barracks and later on he saw his mistake. He changed his course and made for a mountain and there he concealed himself till dark. When night came he walked down the mountain and he happened to see a little house and he went in. There was an aged woman and a man in that house. They enquired of Denis did he come far. Denis told his whole story and said the worm was outside the door.The man said "Poor Boy you're far away from your stillers" and said "you must be very hungry" so woman buttered large farls of oat bread and produced a bowl of milk and gave it to him
