    Once upon a time there lived in the town land of Drumkeelan (and) a man and his name was Pat Doherty. He was a great candle-maker.

    Once upon a time there lived in the townland of Drumkeelan (and) a man and his name was Pat Doherty. He was a great candle-maker. Every evening in the winter time, he used to go out to the field to cut rushes to make candles. Then he used to pull the skin off the rushes and steep the inside in butter. He could then make a candle.
