To cure toothache : use was made of a frog. The frog was put into ones mouth three times and some words said.
To cure Scarletina the remains of milk given to a ferret was drunk.
To cure Whooping Cough : The person who was suffering from the whooping cough went three times under the legs of a white mare or donkey who was rearing a foal. Or to boil a herb named 'chalice' in milk. Whooping cough was also cured by cutting the ear off a black goat and tying it with a string around ones neck.
Mumps were cured by warming a cabbage leaf to the fire and butter was rubbed to it and it was tied round ones neck with the Brat Brighide. Seven year old bacon was also used.
