  1. In former times people did not begin to wear boots until they were twenty years of age and some people never wore them, especially beggars and poor people.
    Nowadays all people wear boots always, except the children who go barefooted in the Summer months.
    Many superstitions are observed concerning the feet. The water which is used in washing feet is thrown out, as it is not right to use it for any other purpose. Also if there is a sore on the feet the water which is used in washing them should be burned, for it is not right for any person to walk on it lest he should take that disease.
