    a grandfather to the present Dr. McDonagh.
    The patron saint of Feakle is Naomh Mochunna, and his feast day falls on the twenty nineth of March, but it is unremembered by the parishioners.

  2. Bauroe is my native district. It is called so because of the red sand-stone of which the surface of the land is composed. The entire townsland consists of about 400 acres of land, the greater part of which is dry and hilly.
    About 200 years ago these 400 acres were owned by two farmers, namely Purcell and Hanrahan. When these died the land was divided among their families, which left about a hundred acres to each.
