  1. There is a tower in Patrick Sheridan's field. It was built on a fort by Michael Sheridan - grand father of present owner.
He put a wind mill (weather cock) on the top of it.
One night Michael dreamt that some one was knocking the castle. He got up and went out and he saw a man running from the castle which had been knocked. It was knocked in the year '80 by John Fagan, Barconey, Castlerahan.
There was law over it and it was left on James Sheridan. When the law was over John Fagan, Barcony said it was he who did it.
After that it was rebuilt and white washed.
He had pigeon cages on it. It is built on a fort and it is supposed that gold is buried here.
A song was composed about the knocking of the tower, which is given towards end of book.
