  1. There are two hoyl wells in the Parish. One is dedicated to St Bbrigid. it is in Mathew Hourigan's field, Dungimmon, Mt Nugent, Co Cavan. it has the cure of the Vomiting; if you want to get cured you must drink the water.
The other is dedicated to St Patrick. It is in Mrs Simpson's field of Rathever, Oldcastle. The track of St Patrick's knees are in a flag beside the well, where he knelt and prayed. It would cure you of anything. A great number of people have been cured of tooth-ache and head-ace.
There was a bush beside it at one time but it fell.
