    If the robin comes into the house there will be (storm) snow.
    If we hear the snipe there will be rain. The snipe is called the weather blade. If the swallow flies low there will be rain. If the seagulls are seen on land it is sure to rain. If the crows fly very low there will be rain.
    If the hills seem very near there will be rain. If the dust blows along the roadway there will be rain.
    If the crickets sing there will be good weather. If the sky is full of midges there will be rain.
    If there is a blue blaze in the fire there will be rain. If the smoke blows low there will be rain. If the smoke goes up straight there will be good weather.
    If the soot falls there will be rain. "When the North wind does blow we shall have snow."
    "If the South wind blows there will be rain."
