  1. First you get fine oaten meal in a basin. Boil a kettle of water. Pour the boiling water into a jug and have some sugar in the jug, and melt the sugar with the boiling water. Pour the jug into the basin, and mix all up. Turn it out on a bread board and shape it into a round cake. Put the griddle standing beside the fire, and when the cake is set, put it on the griddle and bake it in front of the fire until it is hard.
