  1. The local fairs are held in Banagher. The fifteenth of September and the thirteenth of January are the most important. The September sheep fair is held in the fair green and the other fairs during the year is held on the street. The fairs long ago were far better than nowadays because there were more people and better prices. When a man sells a horse he usually gets ten shillings "luck" and on a cow five shillings and sixpence on a sheep. When the bargain is made the two men mark
